Megan Thee Stallion is taking a mandatory breather after a frightening medical emergency brought her Broadway run to a sudden, albeit temporary, halt.

The superstar was rushed to the hospital mid-performance during the March 31 staging of Moulin Rouge! The Musical. The following day, the rapper broke her silence, opening up to fans about the severe physical toll her relentless schedule has taken on her health.

"Last night was a real wake-up call for me," Megan shared with her followers on Instagram. "I’ve been pushing myself past my limits lately, running on empty, and my body finally said enough. It honestly scared me. I thought I was gonna faint on stage, I really tried to push through my performance but I just couldn’t."

A spokesperson for the Grammy-winning artist shed light on the specific medical issues that led to her mid-show evacuation. According to her team, doctors treated Megan for extreme exhaustion, severe dehydration, low metabolic levels, and vasoconstriction—a condition characterized by the abnormal narrowing of blood vessels. She was subsequently discharged and sent home to recover.

The sudden hospitalization occurred less than a week after Megan made her highly anticipated Broadway debut on March 24. She is currently starring as Harold Zidler, making history as the first female-identifying performer to play the iconic nightclub owner—a role previously portrayed by Bob the Drag Queen on stage and Jim Broadbent in the 2001 Baz Luhrmann film. Prior to her debut, Megan expressed deep respect for the intense discipline required in live theater, declaring she was fully "up for the challenge."

While the medical scare forced her to sit out the musical's April 1 performances, the "Hot Girl Summer" artist assured her loyal fanbase that she is focused on her well-being and plans to make a swift, triumphant return to the stage.

"I just need one day to rest, reset, and take care of myself the way I should have been," she noted in her statement. "I’ll be right back on that stage Thursday, stronger, clearer, and ready to give you 100% the way you deserve."
