The Dallas Stars have taken decisive action against a fan who was captured on video performing what appeared to be a Nazi salute during a game at American Airlines Center last December. The NHL franchise has announced an indefinite ban on the individual from the arena.
A team spokesperson confirmed the decision to The Dallas Morning News, stating they identified the person who purchased the tickets and will prohibit them from entering the venue indefinitely. The spokesperson emphasized the organization's zero-tolerance policy toward discriminatory behavior, declaring, "Any type of discriminatory or hateful behavior will not be tolerated and has no place in our arena. Creating and sustaining environments that are inclusive, safe and respectful is a non-negotiable for the Dallas Stars."
The incident came to light after a video surfaced online showing a group of at least five male fans making the salute from their seats. The clip quickly went viral, prompting widespread condemnation from online communities and leading arena officials to launch an investigation.
While the team has banned the ticket purchaser, it remains unclear whether other individuals seen in the video will face similar consequences. The move comes amid broader concerns about rising antisemitism, with the Anti-Defamation League reporting a significant increase in incidents across the United States in recent years.
