Two decades after their iconic high school rivalry defined an era of early reality television, MTV’s Laguna Beach stars Lauren Conrad and Kristin Cavallari are putting the past behind them. The former adversaries have officially squashed their legendary feud ahead of Roku's highly anticipated special, The Reunion: Laguna Beach.

Speaking at the reunion's Santa Monica premiere, Conrad emphasized the importance of female solidarity. "I think it's important, especially for women, to just find common ground and lift each other up," she shared. Conrad noted that during the special, the two women openly discussed their past regrets, the way they treated one another, and how they have both matured into entirely different people.

The reality stars had the chance to fully catch up during a one-on-one sit-down filmed for the upcoming April 10 television broadcast, as well as for an episode of Cavallari's Honestly Cavallari podcast.

For Cavallari, the founder of the lifestyle brand Uncommon James, the experience was unexpectedly healing. "I think having an hour with someone where it's just girl chat, I really feel like I got to know her now as an adult," Cavallari explained, adding that she now respects Conrad on multiple levels. "It's been really therapeutic in a lot of ways. I'm so thankful for the opportunity."

The long-awaited reunion will transport fans back to the fall of 2004, when MTV producers scoured a Southern California high school to cast a real-life documentary-soap inspired by The O.C. The resulting series captivated millions and effectively laid the groundwork for modern reality television.

Joining Conrad, Cavallari, and their former mutual love interest Stephen Colletti for the Roku special are fellow original cast members Lo Bosworth, Talan Torriero, Trey Phillips, Dieter Schmitz, Jessica Smith, Alex Hooser, and Christina Sinclair.

While the cast's teenage drama is eternally frozen in the mid-2000s, the show's two biggest breakout stars have spent the last twenty years building massive brands and growing their families:

Lauren Conrad

Long gone are the days of famously turning down a trip to Paris. Today, Conrad oversees a sweeping lifestyle empire. In addition to running her massively successful Kohl's fashion line, she is a New York Times best-selling author and the co-founder of The Little Market, a nonprofit enterprise focused on empowering female artisans globally. Conrad left the Hollywood party scene behind long ago; she is happily married to former Something Corporate musician William Tell, and the couple shares two sons, Liam and Charlie.

Kristin Cavallari

Once branded as reality TV's quintessential "bad girl," Cavallari has evolved into a powerhouse entrepreneur. Her jewelry and home goods brand, Uncommon James, continues to expand across the country. She has also authored three cookbooks and successfully launched a footwear line. A mother of three—sharing Camden, Jaxon, and Saylor with retired NFL quarterback and ex-husband Jay Cutler—Cavallari is currently navigating the single life. Having recently split from Montana Boyz member Mark Estes, the reality veteran says she's keeping her standards high and leaving no time for unnecessary drama.
