After a two-year hiatus from releasing new material, Los Angeles rock veterans Weezer have officially broken their silence. The band has dropped an uplifting new single titled "Shine Again," serving as a sun-soaked, fuzz-drenched teaser for their highly anticipated 16th studio album.

Produced by Kenny Beats (Kenneth Blume) alongside Klas Åhlund—who recently helmed Robyn’s latest record—the track is a nostalgic return to form. Sonically, it channels the heavy, post-grunge distortion of the band's earliest days while keeping Rivers Cuomo's unmistakable ear for a massive pop hook fully intact.

"Shine Again" kicks off with a blistering guitar riff and a fragmented vocal melody from Cuomo, gradually swelling into an explosive, stadium-ready climax. The frontman captures a slice-of-life domestic optimism in the verses before launching into a soaring, euphoric chorus:

"The dog-walk / The dishes / The good-morning kisses / I’m nailing each task on my list... And I will tell you once again / You were always great / Remember how it feels to know and see / And be so great again / The sun inside will shine / Shine again, shine again."

While "Shine Again" confirms the imminent arrival of Weezer’s 16th full-length LP, the band is keeping fans in suspense regarding the album's official title and release date. For now, this upbeat lead single offers plenty of the vintage guitar-pop warmth that long-time listeners have been craving.
