Hollywood Veterans Keanu Reeves and Cameron Diaz Share Unfiltered Wisdom for Aspiring Actors

In a candid conversation, seasoned Hollywood stars Keanu Reeves and Cameron Diaz offered straightforward advice for those hoping to break into the entertainment industry. Reeves, known for his roles in films like John Wick, didn't hold back during a joint interview with his Outcome co-stars Cameron Diaz and Matt Bomer.

"Try not to be a f--king a--hole," Reeves told E! News. "And go to work and respect who you're working with until they prove they don't get your respect."

Diaz immediately agreed with Reeves' blunt guidance, noting its broader relevance. "Yeah. That's life," she quipped. Reflecting on her own journey, the Charlie's Angels star emphasized that fame doesn't come with an instruction manual.

"You gotta just make it your own—you don't know what it's gonna be," Diaz explained. "Also, there's reaching out to other people that you admire, the way that they do it and asking them for some advice."

Matt Bomer added his perspective, highlighting the importance of maintaining genuine connections in a competitive field. "I would say if you're lucky like Reef, surround yourself with friends and keep your friends who maybe knew you before as well if you can," he advised, referring to Reeves' character in Outcome. "Who can really ground you and who are gonna be there by your side through the good and the bad and the ups and downs of it all."

The trio's new film, Outcome, directed by Jonah Hill and streaming on Apple TV from April 10, explores themes of redemption and community. For Diaz and Reeves, the project marks a reunion nearly three decades after they played love interests in 1996's Feeling Minnesota.

Diaz shared that working with Reeves again felt both familiar and rewarding. "Well it wasn't my fourth film, so I felt a little bit more capable and experienced than I did back then," she said. "But I'm just so honored to get to work with Keanu as I did 30 years ago. Just to be able to do it again now, I'm really grateful. He's the same generous, present, such a good human—nothing's changed in that way."

Reeves echoed the sentiment, describing their collaboration as seamless. "It was just kinda like, 'Let's go to work, let's play, let's do whatever we're doing as best as we can,'" he recalled. "I felt like, whether it's your fourth film or not, the artist is there."

Outcome begins streaming on Apple TV on April 10.
