While navigating a mountain of disturbing criminal charges, Joseph and Kendra Duggar appear heavily focused on saving their real estate portfolio. Newly obtained jailhouse phone calls reveal the former reality TV couple scrambling to map out their financial survival while Joseph remains entangled in the justice system.

In audio recordings captured between March 22 and March 26—while Joseph was locked up in Arkansas—the pair can be heard brainstorming ways to keep Kendra financially afloat. The conversations range from mundane tax strategies and selling off tools to major real estate maneuvers, including the potential liquidation of an investment property.

The "19 Kids and Counting" alumni even discussed launching a second rental property to generate steady income for Kendra. They openly weighed the pros and cons of eventually selling the prospective property or using a Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC) to finance the construction of a brand-new home. In the interim, Joseph's brother, Jedd, has reportedly stepped in to manage their current short-term rental business on platforms like Airbnb.

However, their financial planning is set against a deeply troubling legal backdrop. Joseph was initially apprehended by Tontitown police in Arkansas on a warrant out of Bay County, Florida. He faces horrific allegations, including lewd and lascivious behavior and the molestation of a child under the age of 12.

The legal woes compounded just two days later when both Joseph and Kendra were hit with four counts each of second-degree endangering the welfare of a minor and second-degree false imprisonment. Kendra was booked and released the same day after posting a modest $1,470 bond. In a separate recorded call, Kendra confided in her husband that his family is deeply disappointed in his actions, though they continue to love him.

Joseph has since been extradited to Florida to face his molestation charges. He was released this past Tuesday after posting a massive $600,000 bond. As a condition of his release, a judge ordered him to stay away from his alleged victim and strictly prohibited any unsupervised contact with minors. He is expected back in a Florida courtroom on April 20.
