Labrinth Exits Euphoria Season 3 Soundtrack After Fiery Industry Critique

HBO has officially confirmed that musician Labrinth will not contribute to the soundtrack for the upcoming third season of Euphoria, marking a significant departure from the show's musical identity. The London-based artist, whose real name is Timothy Lee McKenzie, had previously crafted the show's atmospheric score and composed key tracks for its first two seasons, including 'Formula,' 'Still Don't Know My Name,' and the Grammy-nominated Billie Eilish collaboration 'Never Felt So Alone.'

"I'M DONE WITH THIS INDUSTRY," Labrinth declared in a now-deleted Instagram post last month. "FUCK COLUMBIA. DOUBLE FUCK EUPHORIA. I'M OUT. THANK YOU AND GOOD NIGHT X."

In follow-up comments, he elaborated on his stance, emphasizing a desire for authenticity in his professional relationships. "I don't want to use anyone I don't want to be used," he wrote. "I hope people stop acting like this is just how it's done. It doesn't have to be done that way. Fake ain't a good business plan."

This development contradicts earlier announcements from HBO, which had indicated Labrinth would return alongside composer Hans Zimmer for the new season. The network's confirmation of his absence underscores the abrupt nature of his exit, which appears linked to broader frustrations with the music industry and his record label, Columbia.

Labrinth's contributions were integral to Euphoria's distinctive sonic landscape, blending electronic, orchestral, and hip-hop elements to mirror the show's intense emotional narratives. His departure raises questions about the musical direction of Season 3, which has faced delays and creative shifts, with production now tentatively slated for 2026. Fans and critics alike are left to wonder how the series will adapt without the artist whose work became synonymous with its raw, cinematic appeal.
