Mel B Hints at Real Reason Spice Girls Reunion Tour Is Not Happening

Mel B is saying what she really, really wants to fans.

After months of speculation surrounding a Spice Girls reunion tour, the girl group alum shared insight into why she, Victoria Beckham, Gerri Halliwell, Melanie C and Emma Bunton won't be spicing up the stage anytime soon.

"I can tell you it's not happening," Mel toldHELLO!magazine in an interview published April 3. "If it does, it'll be a shock to me, let's put it that way. When I look at that [tour] and at the feeling it gave me, I was in my element, but there comes a time…"

"I'm 50," she continued. "You can't be nagging everyone to go on tour if they don't want to. I laid that to rest when I turned 50."

And the "Stop" singer (real name Melanie Brown) isn't sure she would be ready for five to become one, even if her bandmates were interested.

"I honestly don't know," she admitted. "I've got a lot of respect and love for those girls. I wouldn't be sitting here if it wasn't for me being part of the Spice Girls. They've done a lot for me as a person and in my life. I've got fond memories, but I don't know if I would want to go back up on stage."

But that doesn't mean she won't always be there for her girls, whom the singer behind the Scary Spice moniker last officially performed with at the 2012 Summer Olympics.

"I can't even begin to tell you what our bond is—it's just something that will always be there," she emphasized. "We're like family; our umbilical cords are all tied together."

Mel B's comments come days after Melanie C confirmed that there wouldn't be a reunion for the 30th anniversary of their song "Wannabe." However, fans may be in luck with a different kind of reunion in the coming years.

"We are communicating all the time, we want to do something," Mel C said on the Smallzy Show radio show March 18. "Who knows when? But I still feel very optimistic, and I keep my fingers crossed that you will see the Spice Girls together at some point in the future."

While the Spice Girls may not be hitting the stage anytime soon, stop right and keep reading for a closer look at the iconic pop group through the years.
