Michael Jackson's Son Blanket's Mediation Effort Falters in Estate Dispute with Sister Paris

Blanket "Bigi" Jackson's attempt to broker peace between his sister Paris Jackson and the executors of their father Michael Jackson's estate has hit a roadblock, according to recently filed court documents.

Paris Jackson has been engaged in a legal battle with estate executors John Branca and John McClain over what she considers excessive payments to third-party law firms. She has been pushing for more transparency and a stricter approval process for such expenditures, while the estate maintains the payments are standard industry practice and have generated billions in revenue.

Court filings reveal that Blanket and his legal team recently stepped in to mediate the conflict. The executors claim Blanket's attorney represented that he spoke for all three of Michael Jackson's children—Paris, Blanket, and Prince Jackson—and that an agreement was nearly reached in late March regarding the timeline for submitting accounting reports.

However, the estate alleges that Paris withdrew from this tentative agreement at the last moment, instead presenting her own proposal that the executors describe as "radically different" from what had been discussed just a week earlier.

The proposed settlement would have required court approval before the estate could pay bonuses to law firms, among other procedural changes. The executors have expressed willingness to honor the original agreement but oppose Paris's alternative plan.

A source close to Paris Jackson disputes the estate's version of events, stating: "From the moment she filed an objection, Paris Jackson has been the victim of a disgusting, outrageous smear campaign by the Executors and their attorneys. These lawyers are using Jackson family resources to mock, belittle and attack her for demanding transparency and accountability."

The source further clarified: "To be clear, there was never any deal on the table from any party that would have settled all issues between Paris and the Executors. When there was a proposal regarding attorney compensation, the Executors and their well-compensated attorneys fought to water it down with exceptions and loopholes that would render it unworkable."

The ongoing dispute highlights continuing tensions within the Jackson family regarding the management of Michael Jackson's substantial estate, which continues to generate significant revenue years after the pop icon's death.
