Spice Girls Reunion Tour Officially Scrapped, Documentary Plans in Doubt

Melanie 'Mel B' Brown has definitively shut down speculation about a Spice Girls reunion tour, stating it's "not happening" in a recent interview. The singer, known as Scary Spice, addressed persistent fan hopes as the iconic girl group approaches their 30th anniversary.

"I can tell you it's not happening. If it does, it'll be a shock to me, let's put it that way," Brown told Hello! magazine.

She explained her reasoning, noting: "You can't be nagging everyone to go on tour if they don't want to. I laid that to rest when I turned 50."

Brown also addressed rumors about a potential Netflix documentary chronicling the group's meteoric rise in the 1990s, similar to recent music documentaries about other British pop acts. While acknowledging all five members had considered the project, she expressed doubts about its likelihood.

"I think we've all been asked and were all thinking about it at some point. But it has to be done in the right way, and it has to be honest – and not everybody wants to be honest."

The Spice Girls, consisting of Brown, Geri Halliwell, Victoria Beckham, Emma Bunton, and Melanie C, became a global phenomenon in the mid-1990s with their message of "girl power" and hits like "Wannabe." Despite occasional reunions for special events, including performances at the 2012 London Olympics closing ceremony and a 2019 tour without Beckham, fans have long hoped for a full-scale comeback.

Brown's comments represent the most definitive rejection yet of tour plans, though she left a tiny window open by acknowledging the possibility would surprise her rather than declaring it impossible. The interview comes as the group's landmark anniversary approaches, highlighting the ongoing public fascination with one of pop music's most influential acts.
