Manchester indie outfit Wu Lyf has dropped a brand-new single titled 'The Fool'—but they couldn't resist having a little fun on streaming platforms. Alongside the genuine track, the band uploaded a hilarious parody version to Spotify featuring the unmistakable voice of Homer Simpson.

The serene new track serves as the latest preview of the group's highly anticipated sophomore album, A Wave That Will Never Break, slated for release on April 10. The project marks their first full-length effort since their acclaimed 2011 debut, Go Tell Fire To The Mountain, and follows the previously released lead single, 'Love Your Fate.'

Offering a distinct shift in tone, 'The Fool' leans heavily into airy guitars, tranquil ambient instrumentation, and emotionally resonant vocal melodies before gradually introducing a pulsating electronic beat. Frontman Ellery James Roberts delivers poetic lines on the track, crooning:

"The heartbreak and the letting go / We found the punchline to this cosmic joke / We know that we need to know that everything is love."

"Adam loved his woman so / rebelled against the Holy Ghost / defied the very word of God / he’s such a fool for that love / I’m always such a fool for your love."

Discussing the track's origins, Roberts explained how organically the song came together during pre-production sessions with Sonic Boom.

"'The Fool' is one of those special songs that just appeared almost fully formed whilst jamming in the weeks before we went into record," Roberts shared. "It is a simple, sweet love song that leans into rock ’n’ roll cliché, giving voice to the archetypal holy fool – one who yearns after their lover as a path toward union with the divine."

In addition to the new music and animated mischief, Wu Lyf revealed plans for an upcoming global online listening party to celebrate the new record. Fans in the UK can also look forward to catching the band live at a series of intimate gigs scheduled for later this month.
