ABS-CBN Corp. has launched a new international music label, ABS-CBN Music International (AMI), as part of its strategy to expand overseas and capitalize on the growing global popularity of Filipino musicians.
The joint venture between the company's music and global units aims to serve as a platform connecting Filipino talent with audiences around the world, leveraging the media giant's extensive reach among overseas Filipino communities.
"This initiative marks a strategic shift as we build a stronger cross-border presence beyond our traditional domestic base," the company said.
AMI's roster includes emerging artists like JMKO and Acoya, as well as established acts under ABS-CBN Music such as BINI, BGYO, Maki, and Maymay Entrata. The label will focus on promoting these artists internationally while also scouting and developing new global talent within the Filipino cultural space.
The launch comes amid rising international interest in Filipino pop acts, notably the female octet BINI, which drew attention after a widely watched debut at the Coachella music festival. BINI is also set to go on a "Signals" world tour across Asia, Europe, and North America.
ABS-CBN plans to combine its decades-long experience in talent development through labels like Star Music, Star Pop, and Tarsier Records with its international network to create new avenues for Filipino artists abroad.
"The creation of AMI is a calculated bet that Filipino music can secure a more permanent foothold in the global mainstream," the company said.
