Actress Sue Prado's Heartbreaking Final Wishes Revealed by Sister

The Philippine entertainment industry mourns the loss of actress Sue Prado, who passed away at the age of 44 on April 14. Her older sister, Guia Antonette "Annie" Mera, has disclosed that the cause of death was cardiac arrest.

"I wasn't aware of any health issues she was battling, but we all know heart conditions can be treacherous," Annie shared during her sister's wake last Friday. "This was probably the most fatal kind."

Prado's younger sister, May Shereen, had previously announced the tragic news on social media, writing: "Sue brought light in anyone's path throughout her life. A life lived for others, for the craft she nourished and for those whom she loved most."

Known for her roles in Philippine New Wave cinema, Prado gained recognition for performances in acclaimed films like "Oro" and "Barber's Tales" in 2013. Her career spanned film, television, and theater, including appearances on GMA Network shows such as "Bolera" (2022), "Princesa ng City Jail" (2025), and "Abot Kamay na Pangarap," along with movies like "Balota," "Kantil," "Your Mother's Son," and "Manila Skies."

In a poignant revelation, Annie shared that Prado had expressed specific wishes about her final arrangements during conversations with her siblings. "She had given us instructions. No ceremonies. No eulogies. If possible, just a biscuit tin or something similar for her remains," Annie recounted. "She didn't even want it announced—just direct cremation, direct burial."

The actress had reportedly told entertainment personality Neil Daza that she wanted "the cheapest urn" possible.

Prado will be laid to rest beside her father at Loyola Memorial Park in Marikina on Tuesday, according to her sister's announcement.
