AI Ustaad, an AI-powered teacher assistant developed for the HEC Generative AI Cohort 3 Hackathon, aims to reduce educator workload by automatically generating exam papers. The system allows teachers to input topics or upload notes, select class, subject, and difficulty level, and instantly produce customized question papers including MCQs, short questions, long questions, and complete papers with answer keys.
Key features include multi-language support, PDF export, and a separate answer key generator. The project uses HTML, CSS, JavaScript, an LLM-based AI API, and a serverless backend on Vercel.
"Teachers often face workload issues and reuse past papers, which affects learning quality," the developers noted. They plan future additions such as a student practice mode, an analytics dashboard, and an adaptive difficulty system. The project demonstrates how AI can transform traditional education by streamlining assessment creation.
