Ajinomoto Philippines Corporation has officially marked a major expansion milestone with the groundbreaking ceremony for its new manufacturing facility in Tarlac. The state-of-the-art factory, located in the Tarlac Industrial Park, is expected to significantly boost the company's production capacity for seasonings and food products in the country.
During the event, company executives and local government officials celebrated the start of construction, highlighting the project's contribution to local employment and economic growth. The facility is slated to create hundreds of jobs once operational, with construction expected to be completed within the next two years.
"This new factory reflects our long-term commitment to the Philippines and our dedication to providing high-quality products to Filipino consumers," said Ajinomoto Philippines President Mr. Yasuhiro Suzuki. "We are grateful for the support of the national and local government, which has made this investment possible."
The Tarlac plant will incorporate advanced manufacturing technologies and sustainable practices, aligning with Ajinomoto Group's global environmental goals. It will also serve as a strategic hub for distribution in Luzon, reducing logistics costs and ensuring fresher products reach customers.
Local officials applauded the investment, noting that it will boost the province's industrial sector and create multiplier effects for nearby communities. Tarlac Governor Susan Yap remarked, "This partnership with Ajinomoto demonstrates that Tarlac is an ideal destination for industrial development. We welcome this transformative project."
Ajinomoto Philippines, a subsidiary of the Japanese food and biotechnology giant, has been operating in the country for over 60 years. The company is best known for its seasoning brand Ajinomoto, as well as other products like Cook Do and Knorr.
