Albanian Prime Minister Confirms Kanye West Concert in Tirana Amid European Tour Cancellations

Despite a wave of cancellations across Europe, Kanye West—now known as Ye—is set to perform in Albania this summer. Prime Minister Edi Rama announced on Facebook last week that the rapper will play in the capital, Tirana, on July 11.

The announcement comes after Ye’s shows in the UK, France, Switzerland, and Poland were scrapped following backlash over his past antisemitic remarks. His planned headline slot at London’s Wireless Festival was canceled after the Home Office blocked his entry, leading to the entire 2026 event being called off.

Albania’s Ministry of Culture stated, “In every aspect, it is our obligation to welcome and facilitate such events that bring numerous benefits to tourism and the economy.” Unconfirmed reports suggest a temporary venue may be built for the concert.

Ye recently issued a fresh apology for his controversial comments, acknowledging that “words aren’t enough” and vowing to demonstrate change through his actions. His history of antisemitic statements dates back to 2022, resulting in suspensions from social media, severed ties with fashion brands, and multiple lawsuits from former employees.

The Tirana concert appears to be the only confirmed date on Ye’s European tour schedule so far.
