Alex Cooper Makes Acting Debut in 'Verity' Film Adaptation Starring Anne Hathaway

Podcast powerhouse Alex Cooper is stepping into the world of cinema with a special appearance in the upcoming film adaptation of Colleen Hoover's bestselling novel Verity. The Call Her Daddy host will play herself in a scene where she interviews the fictional author Verity Crawford, portrayed by Oscar winner Anne Hathaway.

A first look at the movie was unveiled at CinemaCon on April 15, offering a glimpse into the psychological thriller's tense atmosphere. The film follows author Lowen Ashleigh (Dakota Johnson), who is hired to complete Verity's manuscript after the acclaimed writer is injured in an accident. As Lowen works from Verity's remote home, she begins to experience disturbing visions and paranoia, including hallucinations of intimate moments between their characters and a desperate attempt to flee the property.

"Though Cooper is portraying herself, this marks her official acting debut," notes entertainment outlet Deadline, which first reported the casting news.

The Verity adaptation, scheduled for an October 2 premiere, represents another high-profile project for Cooper, who has built a media empire through her candid podcast interviews and recently launched The Unwell Network production company. Her involvement comes amid a separate public feud with fellow influencer Alix Earle, though Cooper has insisted the film role is unrelated to that ongoing social media drama.

With Anne Hathaway and Josh Hartnett leading the cast, Verity promises to bring Hoover's dark, twist-filled narrative to life on the big screen, while introducing Cooper's millions of fans to a new dimension of her career.
