Allison Williams Celebrates Former 'Girls' Co-Star's Pregnancy with Heartfelt Advice

Allison Williams, best known for her role as Marnie Michaels on HBO's Girls, recently shared her excitement about the pregnancy news of her former co-star Christopher Abbott and actress Aubrey Plaza.

At a New York gala screening event, Williams expressed genuine joy for the expecting couple. "I'm really excited for them," she told reporters. "It's going to be amazing. As a mom myself, I find myself thinking, 'Oh my god, you don't even know'—it's such a transformative experience."

The 38-year-old actress, who shares a 5-year-old son with husband Alexander Dreymon, humorously admitted her enthusiasm might come across as excessive. "It's so obnoxious, but I get incredibly excited anytime I hear someone is having a baby," she joked.

Despite her own parenting experience, Williams emphasized that new parents should trust their instincts above all else. "Don't listen to anyone," she advised. "People have been raising children since the beginning of humanity—just trust your gut. Call your friends when you need support, but ultimately, you know what's best for your family."

The actress did offer one practical piece of wisdom, adding with a laugh, "Let a stranger hold your baby so you can use the bathroom. Seriously, take those moments when you can get them."

Williams also reflected on her time working with Abbott on Girls, particularly recalling their acclaimed "The Panic in Central Park" episode from the show's fifth season. "Lena Dunham wrote this incredible episode of television, and I feel so fortunate to have been part of it," she mused. "I'm glad it continues to resonate with audiences. If it stops anyone from calling their ex, then it's performing a public service."

The episode, which aired exactly ten years ago this month, features Williams' and Abbott's characters reuniting for one final adventure years after their breakup. It remains a fan favorite and is often cited as one of the series' most memorable installments.
