Carrick assumed temporary leadership in January following Ruben Amorim's departure and has since steered the team to an impressive record of seven victories and only one loss across ten matches. This resurgence has positioned United within striking distance of Champions League qualification, needing just four wins and a draw from their remaining seven fixtures to end a two-year absence from Europe's premier competition.
While the club's leadership has committed to a patient approach, planning to finalize their decision post-season, the managerial landscape has shifted. Notable candidates Thomas Tuchel and Roberto de Zerbi are no longer available, having committed to other roles.
Speaking from United's training camp in the Republic of Ireland, Amad expressed strong support for Carrick:
