Amanda Bynes Announces Musical Return with EDM-Rap Fusion Single 'Girlfriend'

Former child star Amanda Bynes is stepping back into the music scene with her latest single, 'Girlfriend,' set to drop on April 10. This marks her first musical release since 2022's 'Diamonds,' signaling a fresh chapter in her career.

In an exclusive interview with E!, Bynes revealed the creative influences behind the track, stating: "My inspiration was a lot of EDM, as well as rap." Her label, Create Music Group, elaborated in a press release, describing the song as a blend of melodic rap and EDM-inspired production that features a smooth West Coast vibe. The track includes a collaboration with Fenix Flexin and is crafted for high replay value and broad playlist appeal.

Bynes first captured audiences in the 1990s through popular Nickelodeon shows like All That and The Amanda Show. She transitioned to film in the 2000s, starring in hits such as What A Girl Wants, She’s The Man, and Hairspray, with her last acting role in 2010's Easy A. Her career faced challenges in the 2010s due to personal struggles, leading to a conservatorship that began in 2013. She successfully ended the conservatorship in 2022, emphasizing her commitment to health and independence. Now, with 'Girlfriend,' Bynes is poised to reconnect with fans through a dynamic new sound.
