Amazon has launched an artificial intelligence system capable of conducting job interviews and accelerating mass hiring. The new tool, part of the AWS Connect Talent software, uses AI agents to screen candidates and hold voice conversations independently, removing the need for a human recruiter in the initial stages.
The system is designed to handle high-volume recruitment processes, allowing companies to quickly filter and assess applicants. By automating early interview stages, Amazon aims to reduce hiring times and operational costs while maintaining candidate engagement.
"The AI conducts natural voice interactions, asking relevant questions and evaluating responses in real time," said an AWS spokesperson.
The technology is already being tested by select enterprise clients. Critics, however, raise concerns about bias and lack of human judgment in automated hiring decisions. Amazon has stated that the AI is regularly audited for fairness and transparency.
