Analogue has announced that its upcoming Analogue 3D console, a modern reimagining of the Nintendo 64, will support save states at launch—a feature highly requested by retro gaming enthusiasts. The company revealed the update after months of development, aiming to balance preservation with convenience. Save states allow players to save gameplay at any moment and reload later, which was not possible on original N64 hardware. Analogue emphasized that the implementation will be optional, preserving the authentic experience for purists. The Analogue 3D, which uses FPGA technology for cycle-accurate emulation, is set to ship in late 2024. Pricing remains at $249.99, with preorders already sold out.
