Andre Berto Picks Mayweather to Beat Pacquiao Again, Doubts Explosive Rematch

Former welterweight champion Andre Berto is predicting history will repeat itself when Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao step into the ring later this year. Speaking exclusively to TMZ Sports, Berto said he expects the rematch to mirror their 2015 bout—with Mayweather winning on points and the fight lacking the fireworks many fans hope for.

"I don't think you're going to see an explosive fight," Berto said. "Both guys are older now. Floyd has been retired for years, and even though Manny is still active, neither is in their prime. But they'll still put on a show because Pacquiao desperately wants that win."

The 49-year-old Mayweather and 47-year-old Pacquiao are scheduled to meet in Las Vegas on September 25. Despite Mayweather's long layoff, Berto gives the edge to "Money" due to his unparalleled ring IQ and experience.

"Floyd has the knowledge and experience nobody else has," Berto added. "He had to put his perfect record on the line to make the fight interesting for fans. But I don't see it being ruined."

Berto, who lost to Mayweather by unanimous decision in 2015, believes the fight will be competitive but ultimately follow the same script as the original.
