WNBA star Angel Reese is celebrating her recent trade from the Chicago Sky to the Atlanta Dream, calling it a long-awaited moment she's "dreamed of."
Speaking exclusively to E! News at the launch of her new Victoria's Secret campaign in New York City on April 7, the 23-year-old athlete expressed her excitement about the move. "Atlanta Dream, what's up! I really dreamed of this moment," Reese said. "I'm just living in my Barbie Dream house. I'm just having so much fun. Life is good, life is great. I'm excited for this new journey in this new city and more to come."
Reese, who goes by the nickname "Bayou Barbie," also marked the occasion on Instagram with two posts on April 6, sharing photos of herself in Atlanta gear. In one video, she thanked Chicago fans, saying, "To the city of Chicago, you showed me real love from day one. Thank you Chicago, always Chi-Town Barbie." Another post featured the caption "ATL BARBIE," embracing her new city with her signature style.
Drafted seventh overall by the Chicago Sky in 2024, Reese made a significant impact during her two seasons with the team. According to ESPN, she led the league in double-doubles in 2025 while topping her team in points and assists. She also became the only player in WNBA history to average at least 12 rebounds per game for two consecutive seasons.
Beyond basketball, Reese is expanding her horizons with a new Victoria's Secret campaign, following her historic runway walk for the brand six months ago as the first professional athlete to become a Victoria's Secret Angel. "They helped me so much, especially for me entering the modeling industry," she explained. "Being able to have this kind of campaign for my first, I'm really excited."
When asked about her advice for feeling confident, Reese emphasized self-acceptance: "Just be who you are. Look at yourself in the mirror and tell yourself that you're that girl. And I want you to know, from Angel, that you are that girl or that guy. And I hope you feel inspired and continue to push through life."
