Investor interest in Anthropic has reached a fever pitch. The maker of the Claude AI assistant has received multiple preemptive offers to raise approximately $50 billion in fresh capital at a valuation between $850 billion and $900 billion, according to half a dozen sources familiar with the matter.
Earlier this month, Bloomberg and Business Insider reported that Anthropic fielded preemptive bids at an $800 billion valuation, but the company had not yet committed to a fundraise at that time. Now, sources say Anthropic is finding it difficult to resist the pressure to secure more funding in what could be its final private fundraising round before a potential initial public offering. The company is expected to make a final decision on the round in the coming weeks.
Anthropic declined to comment on the reports.
