Ariana Grande Takes a Step Back: Ending Public Appearances Amid Ongoing Scrutiny

Ariana Grande, the 33-year-old US singer, has announced that she will be taking a break from public life once her Eternal Sunshine tour concludes next month.

This decision comes after Grande faced 'endless, ongoing public scrutiny' over her physical appearance and health, which has been a subject of speculation in recent years.

As part of her decision to step back, Grande will no longer star in the upcoming musical production of Sunday in the Park with George, scheduled to take place at the Barbican in London in 2027.

'She performs a very physical show, and there is a lot of athleticism involved. She performs healthily and successfully at a very high level night after night,' stressed Grande's representative.

The representative also stated that Grande is looking forward to finishing her tour 'on a high note, both healthily and happily, and then taking a much-deserved break from public-facing work and appearances.'

The news has sparked a mixture of support and concern from fans, with #weloveyouariana trending on social media.

Grande's tour will continue in Chicago on Monday, with three dates at the United Center, before moving to London's O2 arena for 10 dates from August 15 to September 1.

The musical production of Sunday in the Park with George will go ahead without Grande, with Jonathan Bailey starring and Marianne Elliott directing.

The Barbican has expressed their understanding and support for Grande's decision, stating 'we sincerely hope to welcome her to the Barbican one day when the time is right.'
