Ashley Tisdale, best known for her role in High School Musical, has reached a major milestone with her wellness brand Being Frenshe. Four years after launching the line—which includes body care, hair care, fragrances, home products, and lip care—the company has exceeded $250 million in sales.
"I'm so proud of what we have built," Ashley shared on Instagram April 28. "And am forever grateful for everyone who has believed in me and loved the products."
The 40-year-old actress almost didn't believe the achievement, especially after shutting down her previous makeup line, Illuminate, in 2020. "There were so many red flags, and it was very stressful. I just felt like it was probably the biggest failure in my career thus far," she told Women Wear Daily. "I was totally turned off about coming out with products ever again."
But during the pandemic, Ashley launched her lifestyle blog Frenshe, which became "a space for me to get excited and inspired again, to just connect with people." That passion led her to partner with beauty incubator Maesa to create Being Frenshe.
Despite the brand's success, Ashley remains cautious. "I want to take my time. I want to make sure we're making the right moves and not over-saturating the market," she explained. "Everything has to be authentic and right for the brand."
Ashley is deeply involved in product development, even creating the brand's signature Cashmere Vanilla scent inspired by "Trader Joe's jasmine rice cooking in my kitchen." Seeing fans share their love for the scent on TikTok makes her feel "so good."
The brand's success has also made her question a return to acting. "It's funny when people ask me, 'Do you miss acting?' I'm like, 'No,'" she admitted. "With this, I get to be myself, I get to create experiences for people, and it has a more meaningful effect. I feel like I'm finally stepping into my power."
