The second phase, set to begin early next year, will cover higher-value firearms valued above AUS$3,000, capped at AUS$10,000.

The National Gun BuyBack Scheme is being jointly funded by New South Wales and the federal government. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has emphasized the need for meaningful nationwide gun reform, stating that everything possible must be done to prevent such a tragic incident from happening again.
Support for Businesses and Gun Dealers
