Philippine authorities raided an aesthetic clinic in Pasig City and seized unregistered slimming and whitening drugs, according to a report on Thursday. The operation, conducted by the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), targeted the clinic after receiving complaints about the sale of unapproved products. During the raid, agents confiscated various vials, capsules, and creams labeled for weight loss and skin lightening, none of which had FDA certification. The clinic's owner faces charges for violating Republic Act 9711, or the FDA Act of 2009, which prohibits the manufacture, importation, and sale of unregistered health products. Authorities warned the public to only purchase FDA-approved items from licensed establishments to avoid health risks.
