Bangor Football Club has suspended forward Ben Arthurs pending an internal disciplinary investigation, the Irish Premiership side announced on Monday evening.
In a brief statement, the club confirmed the suspension but declined to provide specific details about the nature of the disciplinary matter, citing an ongoing formal process.
"The Club will conduct a full internal review once that process concludes and will issue a further statement at that point," the club's official communication stated.
The 27-year-old striker has been a cornerstone of Bangor's recent success, having joined the club eight years ago when they were competing in the Ballymena & Provincial League. Arthurs played a pivotal role in the team's consecutive promotions, culminating in their return to the Irish Premiership for the upcoming 2025-26 season.
Arthurs stands as the club's second-highest all-time scorer, making his suspension particularly significant as Bangor prepares for their top-flight campaign. The north Down club emphasized that established procedures are being followed, with further information to be released after the investigation concludes.
