Barbara Eden, the beloved star of the classic television series I Dream of Jeannie, recently delighted fans with a charming Easter celebration. At 94, Eden posted a special photo on Instagram with her husband, Jon Eicholtz, showcasing the couple's playful side as they donned colorful bunny ears in their living room.
"Happy Easter from us bunnies!" Eden captioned the April 5 post. "We hope it's been beautiful and full of joy!"
The actress, who married Eicholtz in 1991, continues to cherish her personal life while reflecting on her iconic role. In a September Instagram post marking the show's 60th anniversary, Eden expressed deep gratitude for her time on I Dream of Jeannie, which aired from 1965 to 1970.
"The amount of happiness and warmth I feel when I think about Jeannie is immeasurable," she wrote. "Working with Larry, Hayden, Billy, Emmaline... it was such a magical time."
Eden, a Golden Globe nominee, added that she never expected the character to remain such a constant presence in her life. "I never would have thought that Jeannie would still be with me, always, right over my shoulder after all these years," she continued. "Yet, she's still there! I wouldn't have it any other way!"
Reflecting on her career, Eden described her role as "a blessing" and expressed appreciation for how the character has resonated with audiences. "As an actor, you know there is always a chance that any role you play might 'stick' to you long after you've moved on," she explained. "I am so fortunate that Jeannie was such a good character to be 'stuck' with. I really like her and I truly love how much she's meant to so many for such a long time."
Eden remains active in her personal life, recently attending a screening of her 1963 film The Yellow Canary. As she looks to the future, the actress expressed confidence that Jeannie's legacy will endure. "I have a feeling she will continue on for many more years to come," Eden concluded, "and THAT is a very good feeling!"
