Actress Barbie Forteza recently shared a heartfelt tribute to her idol, Sharon Cuneta, revealing that the veteran star was the inspiration behind her decision to pursue acting.
Forteza expressed her excitement about working with Cuneta for the first time on the upcoming Prime Video original series "Honor Thy Mother." The two stars were photographed together at the streaming platform's launch event earlier this week.
"She was the reason why I wanted to become an actress. Dreams do come true. Beyond excited to work with you po, Ms. Sharon Cuneta," Forteza wrote in an Instagram post tagging the Megastar.
The collaboration marks a significant moment for Forteza, who previously played the role of Monique in the 2023 remake of "Maging Sino Ka Man"—a character originally portrayed by Cuneta in the 1991 film version.
"Honor Thy Mother" is a joint production between GMA Network, ABS-CBN, and Prime Video, exploring complex family dynamics and relationships. The series also features John Estrada and Khalil Ramos.
