Barkley Shines in PBA Debut as Blackwater Crushes Rain or Shine

Kentrell Barkley made an impressive debut in the PBA, leading the Blackwater Bossing to a dominant 121-89 victory over the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters on Wednesday at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

Barkley, the team's new import, tallied 33 points, 12 rebounds, and 7 assists in just 35 minutes of action. He shot an efficient 13-of-20 from the field and also recorded 3 steals, showcasing his all-around game.

"I just wanted to come in and do whatever it takes to help the team win," Barkley said after the game. "My teammates made it easy for me, and we played really well together."

Blackwater controlled the game from the start, leading by as many as 36 points in the third quarter. The Bossing shot 52% from the field and outrebounded Rain or Shine 52-36.

Troy Rosario added 18 points and 6 rebounds for Blackwater, while Baser Amer contributed 14 points and 5 assists.

For Rain or Shine, Rey Nambatac led the way with 20 points, but the Elasto Painters were unable to keep pace with Blackwater's fast-paced offense.

Blackwater head coach Ariel Vanguardia praised Barkley's performance. "He's a tremendous talent and a great fit for our system. We're excited to see what he can do for us going forward."

The win improves Blackwater's record to 2-1, while Rain or Shine falls to 1-2.
