As Bath prepare to face reigning European champions Bordeaux Begles in Sunday's Champions Cup semi-final, prop Beno Obano insists the team is ready for the challenge, confident that even the most formidable opponents have vulnerabilities.
The match, set to be played in Bordeaux's home city, pits the English side against a French team packed with international talent like Matthieu Jalibert, Louis Bielle-Biarrey, and Damian Penaud. Bordeaux have won the last five European titles, but their domestic form has been inconsistent, with 10 losses in 22 Top 14 games this season.
Bath, meanwhile, have built resilience under head of rugby Johann van Graan, winning three trophies last season. Obano highlighted the team's newfound composure in high-stakes matches.
"In these big games we're just so calm - everything we need is in the team," Obano said. "Every team has weaknesses - we have weaknesses - but the team we're coming up against has more strengths than most. It's just about going out there and trying to be the best version of ourselves."
With stars like Finn Russell, Ollie Lawrence, and Thomas du Toit, Bath believe they can create history and reach their first Champions Cup final since 1998. The semi-final kicks off at 15:00 BST on Sunday, 3 May.
