It appears the wall-crawler will be sitting out the massive ensemble of Avengers: Doomsday. Instead, all signs point to a return in Avengers: Secret Wars, slated for December 17, 2027. A clever nod in the latest film's post-credits sequence—showing Ned Leeds' Spidey Tracker app locating Peter on a distant planet—aligns perfectly with the comic book storyline of Secret Wars, where heroes and villains clash on the cosmic patchwork planet known as Battleworld.
This multiversal collision course sets the perfect stage for a long-awaited MCU debut: Miles Morales. In the original 2015 comic event, Secret Wars was the catalyst that brought Miles into the mainline continuity. Marvel appears poised to mirror this transition on the big screen, using the film to introduce a new web-slinger.
Tom Holland himself recently confirmed that a succession plan has been secretly in development for half a decade. The actor has openly expressed his desire to welcome Morales to live-action cinema, hoping to mentor the young hero in much the same way Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark once guided Peter. Given the four-and-a-half-year gap between No Way Home and Brand New Day, audiences will likely have to wait until at least 2030 to see a fifth film and witness the ultimate handover to a new generation's Spider-Man.
