At BOTS2026, visionaries Prof. Stefano Bini and Dr. Ashis Barad MD unveiled a groundbreaking concept that moves beyond the current generative AI hype: the Digital Twin in orthopedics.
By merging a patient's imaging, wearable data like gait analysis, and medical history, generative AI constructs a virtual replica of the patient's joint or musculoskeletal system. This Digital Twin combines robotic precision with supercomputer foresight, tailoring every surgical incision, implant choice, and recovery protocol to the individual patient.
"This is the future of integrated surgical intelligence," said Prof. Bini during the fireside chat. The session explored how Digital Twins expand virtual care and reshape musculoskeletal innovation.
The talk, part of the Boston Orthopedic Technology Summit, served as a roadmap for founders building the next great platform and surgeons aiming to stay ahead. BOTS2026 takes place on May 16, 2026, from 1:30–2:00 PM. Registration is available at the provided link.
