Blunt Force Trauma from Car Crash Killed 'The Voice' Star Dylan Carter

The official cause of death for Dylan Carter, the 24-year-old singer best known for his appearance on The Voice season 24, has been confirmed as blunt force injuries sustained in a single-car accident. The Colleton County coroner in South Carolina ruled the death accidental.

According to law enforcement, Carter was driving a 2026 Tesla southbound on U.S. Route 21 when the vehicle veered off the road, struck a pole and a fence, and rolled over. He was wearing a seatbelt and was alone in the car. He later died at a hospital.

Carter rose to fame in 2023 as a contestant on The Voice, where he was mentored by Reba McEntire. McEntire paid tribute on Instagram, writing, "He was a brilliant, kind and talented young man who brought a huge ray of sunshine to The Voice. Rest in peace, my dear friend."

Carter also co-founded The Local Voice, a nonprofit supporting women battling cancer. The organization posted: "He believed every voice matters and lived that every day. Through his music, his kindness, and his smile, he brought people together."

Moncks Corner Mayor Thomas Hamilton Jr. also expressed condolences, noting Carter frequently performed at town events and brought the community together with his charm and talent.
