Brad Pitt Battles Angelina Jolie Over $164M Winery Trial Timeline

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are locked in a new courtroom clash over the scheduling of their high-stakes trial concerning the French winery Chateau Miraval, valued at $164 million. The former spouses, who purchased the estate together during their marriage, are now at odds over when their legal battle should commence.

According to recently filed court documents, the trial is currently slated for February 1, 2027. However, Jolie has formally requested a postponement, pushing the start date to November 2027. Pitt has countered this move, expressing a willingness to delay the proceedings by only two months and opposing the longer extension sought by his ex-wife.

In his legal filing, Pitt argues that the protracted dispute has prevented him from the "quiet enjoyment of his home in France." He contends that the ongoing conflict with the winery's new owner, whom he accuses of attempting a "hostile takeover," has significantly disrupted both the business operations and his personal use of the property. Pitt emphasizes a desire for a swift resolution, stating that the winery's affairs have been "stymied by the dispute" and that all parties involved need to "move on with their lives."

Brad also insists that a quicker trial date is necessary to ensure key witnesses are still available ... adding that Angelina’s former business manager, Terry Bird, 'unfortunately passed away' and her other lawyer may be 'too ill to testify.'

Pitt's filing further asserts that Jolie has provided no substantive justification for the requested delay, framing the push for a later date as unnecessary and detrimental.

Jolie's legal team has fired back, challenging Pitt's narrative. They argue that Pitt himself initiated this complex lawsuit, which involves witnesses located outside the country, contributing to the procedural timeline. Furthermore, they dismiss Pitt's claim of being deprived of his home, stating, "there is no evidence anywhere that Mr. Pitt's ability to live in his own home has been impacted by this case one iota."

The core of the lawsuit stems from Pitt's allegation that Jolie sold her stake in Chateau Miraval to a third party without his consent after their negotiations collapsed. Jolie has maintained that his approval was not required for the sale. This latest skirmish over the trial calendar marks another chapter in the yearslong legal war between the former Hollywood power couple over their shared French estate.
