British Rowers Secure Triple Gold at European Championships in Italy

Great Britain's rowing teams put on a stellar performance at the European Rowing Championships in Varese, Italy, taking home three gold medals across different events.

The women's four crew, consisting of Eleanor Brinkhoff, Angharad Broughton, Sarah Marshall, and Holly Youd, set the pace for the majority of their race. They successfully fended off a fierce challenge from Germany to secure their spot at the top of the podium.

In the PR3 mixed coxed four event, the British team delivered an absolute masterclass. Frankie Allen, Charlotte Coburn, Josh O'Brien, and Jonty Ridley, guided by cox Omar Al-Miqdadi, dominated the water, crossing the finish line nearly six seconds ahead of the host nation, Italy.

Adding to the medal haul, the men's four development squad also tasted victory. Theo Bell, Josh Brangan, Sam Ford, and Tom O'Sullivan established a strong early advantage and dug deep in the final stretch to hold off a late surge from the Romanian crew to seal the win.

The European Championships in Varese serve as a crucial stepping stone ahead of the 2026 World Championships, which are scheduled for late August in the Netherlands. Notably, the primary British men's team slated for the Worlds skipped the Italian event to focus on a dedicated training camp in Switzerland.
