Bruno Mars has humorously addressed long-standing rumors of a massive gambling debt during the opening night of his The Romantic Tour in Las Vegas. The Grammy-winning performer, joined on stage by his Silk Sonic collaborator Anderson .Paak, turned speculation into a lighthearted moment for the Allegiant Stadium crowd.
During the April 10 concert, .Paak quipped about "how much debt" it took to reach their current success, prompting Mars to respond with a hearty laugh and a definitive statement: "Andy, I'm sorry you're going through all that. See I'm debt-free, I paid the casino off a long time ago."
The exchange references a 2024 report that claimed Mars owed MGM Casino $50 million due to alleged gambling habits. The viral rumor gained traction online despite MGM Resorts International's swift denial. The company, which partners with Mars on his Pinky Ring lounge at Bellagio, issued a statement at the time calling the speculation "completely false" and emphasizing their "longstanding partnership rooted in mutual respect."
This isn't the first time Mars has playfully acknowledged the debt rumors. Last summer, after performing with Rosé, he posted a clip on Instagram with the caption: "Almost out of debt BehhhhhBehhhhh!!!"
The tour kickoff marks Mars' return to the stage following his successful residency at Dolby Live at Park MGM, where his partnership with MGM has brought numerous visitors to Las Vegas. His latest comments suggest he's more focused on entertaining fans than addressing old rumors, though he clearly hasn't lost his sense of humor about the situation.
