Bryson DeChambeau Pledges Future to LIV Golf Amid Financial Uncertainty

Two-time Major champion Bryson DeChambeau has declared his intention to remain with LIV Golf, even as questions swirl about the tour's financial stability.

Recent reports indicated that Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF) might withdraw its financial backing from the breakaway golf circuit, casting doubt on its long-term viability. While LIV officials maintain operations are proceeding normally, some European golf insiders have privately expressed skepticism about the tour's future beyond this season.

DeChambeau, the charismatic 32-year-old who captured the US Open in both 2020 and 2024, is reportedly seeking a monumental $500 million contract extension to stay with LIV when his current deal expires. He addressed the situation directly, stating his commitment to the league's success.

"As long as LIV is here, I would figure out a way for it to make sense," DeChambeau said. "We're still working on a potential contract. I haven't given up on that and I think there will be a solution. But as of right now, my job is to help make the league work after this year."

He emphasized his personal investment in the venture, adding, "I just feel like I have a responsibility. I've put a lot of effort into it. So that's what I'm going to do—we're going to make this work. It's a start-up, right? And so there's going to be times where we're squeezed and punched. This is one of those moments. But I'm going to do everything in my power to make it work and I really see the value in franchise golf."

LIV Golf ignited a major schism in professional golf when it launched in 2022, attracting top players from the PGA Tour with unprecedented financial guarantees. DeChambeau's public pledge of loyalty represents a significant vote of confidence for the embattled tour during a period of intense scrutiny.
