California Man Charged with Attempted Assassination of President Trump at Washington Gala

A California man has been charged with attempting to assassinate U.S. President Donald Trump during an attack at a Washington gala dinner over the weekend. Cole Tomas Allen, 31, made his first appearance in federal court on Monday, where he also faces gun-related charges. Dressed in a blue jumpsuit and accompanied by two public defenders, Allen remained calm throughout the brief hearing. He will be held in custody pending a detention hearing scheduled for later this week.
