Former "Wife Swap" personality James Cuda, affectionately known to fans as "Princess," passed away from sudden cardiac death, officials have confirmed.
According to Luzerne County Coroner Dion Fernandes, the 53-year-old reality television star died of natural causes. Toxicology reports indicated that Cuda tested negative for both drugs and alcohol at the time of his passing.
Cuda’s body was discovered on August 30 at a sober living facility located in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
"Princess" originally captured audiences' attention during a memorable 2013 episode of the hit ABC reality show "Wife Swap." The highly-talked-about episode featured him as a Las Vegas nanny who traded his usual vibrant lifestyle to spend time on a strict Amish farm in Michigan.
Following the tragic news, Cuda's close friend and former castmate, Marissa Zdazinsky, shared her grief on Instagram, describing his passing as "the saddest moment of my life." Zdazinsky openly discussed Cuda's difficult battle with alcohol addiction, noting that she and her husband had actively tried to support him through his challenging journey with substance abuse.
