Celebrity doctor Manny Calayan has revealed that his extramarital affair with a vlogger was the catalyst for his separation from his wife, fellow doctor Pie Calayan, in 2019.
In a candid interview on the vlog "Kay Susan Tayo!" with host Susan Enriquez, Dr. Manny confirmed the couple parted ways after nearly seven years of marriage, though their union has not been legally annulled.
"We parted ways in 2019. Almost seven years. It's not annulled yet," he stated, clarifying that no annulment case has been filed.
Dr. Manny attributed the initial strain to lifestyle changes and prolonged separation when Dr. Pie moved abroad for five years to accompany their children studying overseas.
"We grew apart. I fell out of love. When she was away, there were many temptations," he admitted.
The situation escalated when Dr. Pie returned unexpectedly and discovered the affair after the vlogger, who was also her patient, visited her dermatology clinic.
"My wife had an instinct. She asked the vlogger, 'You're a vlogger?' then called our child and said, 'Look, she's young and pretty. Do you think this is the woman your father is fooling around with?'" Dr. Manny recounted.
He described the aftermath as a "bloody encounter," confirming the affair lasted approximately three years. Despite attempts to salvage their relationship for four additional years, Dr. Manny described that period as emotionally "cold."
The couple's children ultimately encouraged the separation, telling their parents, "You should separate. It's better than seeing you always fighting. That's not healthy."
Currently, Dr. Manny claims to be single, joking when asked about a new partner, "Secret. Victoria. Victoria Secret." He expressed contentment that Dr. Pie is caring for their children, though he humorously noted, "They're all girls, so they're all on her side."
The revelation offers a rare glimpse into the personal struggles behind the public personas of the well-known medical couple.
