Celtic Football Club has officially lifted the suspension on the Green Brigade supporters group, allowing them to return to Celtic Park starting with Saturday's home match against St Mirren.
This decision comes after months of negotiations between the club and the fan group, which had been banned since early November following incidents of "violent and threatening behaviour" during a match against Falkirk. The initial six-game suspension was later extended due to additional safety concerns.
Manager Martin O'Neill noted in February that "some progress" had been made through ongoing discussions. The breakthrough came after Celtic presented their case to the Glasgow City Council Safety Advisory Group on March 27.
"The SAG confirmed that it did not object to the suspension being lifted, subject to three conditions being satisfied," Celtic stated in their Tuesday evening announcement. "These were that all applicable policies will be adhered to, including season ticket terms and conditions; agreement that members will comply with the safety and security operations; recognition that a match-by-match report will be submitted to the Safety Advisory Group, for as long as they deem it necessary."
The Green Brigade, comprising approximately 200 supporters who typically occupy the north curve section of Celtic Park, has accepted these conditions unconditionally.
With the suspension lifted, the fan group will be present for Celtic's remaining home fixtures this season, including crucial matches against Falkirk on April 25, Rangers on May 10, and Hearts on May 16.
Interim chairman Brian Wilson expressed satisfaction with the resolution, stating: "A full and united Celtic Park can get behind the team at this crucial point in the season."
