Charlize Theron's children are taking an active role in her dating life. The Oscar-winning actress, 50, shared on The Drew Barrymore Show that her daughters Jackson, 13, and August, 10, have become enthusiastic supporters of her romantic pursuits.
"My kids are at an age now where they actually enjoy that I'm dating because they want to be involved," Theron explained. "It's really funny how I was scared they'd be threatened by it, and now they're like, 'Mom, is he texting you? Like, go on the date, mom.'"
Despite previously dating high-profile figures like Sean Penn and Stuart Townsend, Theron is currently single and selective. She revealed she's "looking for something very specific" and admitted, "I don't think I could ever live with somebody again. I would love for you to be close, like buy the house down the street, but I don't know if I can."
Theron noted her current focus on raising her daughters, but acknowledged her perspective might shift when they leave home. "Maybe it's because I still have my daughters in the house, and maybe that will change when I'm an empty nester," she mused.
The actress has also enjoyed casual dating, previously revealing a one-night stand with a 26-year-old on Call Her Daddy. "It was really f---ing amazing and I've never done that," she said last July.
Barrymore, 51, echoed Theron's sentiments, adding, "I love also prioritizing my kids and that has never felt like the wrong move for me."
