Cheryl Cole is embracing the magic of motherhood. The Girls Aloud singer recently treated her 9-year-old son, Bear Grey Payne—whom she shares with the late Liam Payne—to a trip to Disney World, offering fans a rare look at their close bond.
In an Instagram post shared on April 28, Cheryl and Bear were seen matching in gray sweatsuits as they strolled through Hollywood Studios, hand in hand. One snapshot captured the duo preparing to fire blasters on the Toy Story Mania ride, while others showed Cheryl posing beside Disney’s Floating Mountains of Pandora and watching a Mickey Mouse performance.
Though Bear’s face remained hidden, the joy was evident. “Somewhere in the corners of the world Magic still exists,” the 42-year-old wrote. “I don’t know what took me so long to experience the joys of @waltdisneyworld but I completely escaped into my inner child for the last couple of weeks. What a wonderful place.”
Cheryl rarely shares updates about her son, but she has previously spoken about how becoming a mother transformed her. “Everything changed for me from the moment Bear was born,” she told The Telegraph in 2019. “I knew the word ‘fulfilled’ but I’d never known what that felt like. Money, fame, success should have made me feel that but they never did. The moment I held him in my arms I had that feeling: fulfillment.”
Since Liam Payne’s tragic passing in October 2024, Cheryl has largely kept their son out of the spotlight while navigating life as a single mom. She has, however, defended their family against “abhorrent reports and media exploitation,” and previously called Liam “a great dad,” noting that co-parenting worked because they prioritized their son’s happiness.
This Disney trip marks a joyful milestone for Cheryl and Bear as they continue to heal and create new memories together.
