Child Support Battle Erupts Over Teen Accused of Murdering Stepsister on Cruise

The parents of the teenage stepbrother accused of murdering Anna Kepner on a Carnival cruise ship are now locked in a heated child support battle, according to court documents obtained by TMZ.

Thomas Hudson, the father of the accused minor identified as T.H., is seeking to reduce his monthly child support payments to T.H.'s mother, Shauntel Hudson. Thomas alleges that Shauntel kicked T.H. out of her home after he was charged with Anna's murder, stating the child was no longer welcome there due to the accusations.

Because T.H. no longer resides with his mother, Thomas argues that his child support obligations should be lowered for the amounts allocated to the boy. The teen is currently living with his uncle while his criminal case proceeds.

In his motion, Thomas claims Shauntel is not providing day-to-day financial support or housing for T.H., and therefore should not receive child support checks meant for him. He has asked the court to redirect all future payments to T.H.'s uncle. A judge has not yet ruled on the request.

Anna Kepner was killed on November 7, 2025, while on a Carnival Cruise with her family. As previously reported, prosecutors recently sought to revoke T.H.'s bond after he was charged as an adult for the murder.
