In an emotional video statement, Nezhoda described how Sheets was 'mercilessly' targeted by online harassment. He expressed hope that this tragedy would serve as a stark warning about the devastating real-world consequences of digital abuse.
"People need to hold each other accountable when it comes to cyberbullying," Nezhoda stated, emphasizing that this applies whether the targets are reality TV personalities, athletes, or any public figures.
Nezhoda acknowledged that he and Sheets had a competitive, sometimes contentious relationship on the show, where they bid against each other for storage units. However, he clarified that, beneath the rivalry, they were friends, and he is deeply saddened by the loss.

Authorities confirmed that Sheets, 67, was found dead in his Arizona home from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Police responded early Wednesday morning after receiving a call about a deceased individual.
