Coachella Weekend 2 Delivers Star-Studded Surprises: Sabrina Carpenter Swaps Cameos, French Montana Takes Stage

Coachella's second weekend kicked off with a bang, proving that the festival's final installment can be just as electrifying as its opening act. While some critics dismiss Weekend 2 as a mere encore, Friday night's performances delivered fresh surprises and celebrity power that captivated the desert crowd.

Sabrina Carpenter, fresh off her headline-making collaboration with Madonna during the first weekend, returned to the stage with a revamped lineup of special guests. Instead of the previously featured Susan Sarandon and Will Ferrell, Carpenter brought out Geena Davis and Terry Crews for memorable cameos. Davis portrayed an older version of Carpenter during the set, while Crews stole the show as an electrician who dramatically removed his shirt to flex his muscles while "fixing" the stage lights. Crews even threw in a nostalgic nod to the 2004 comedy "White Chicks," delighting fans with a dose of early-2000s pop culture.

Meanwhile, rapper Swae Lee made good on his promise to deliver a bigger performance after his set was cut short during Weekend 1. He brought out special guest French Montana, and the duo performed their hit collaboration "Unforgettable" to an enthusiastic crowd. The performance marked a redemption moment for Swae Lee and provided one of the night's musical highlights.

Other artists from the first weekend returned for repeat performances, including Katseye, Sexyy Red, Teddy Swims, and Dijon. EDM artist Anyma finally got her chance to perform after weather conditions forced the cancellation of her Weekend 1 set.

As one festival-goer remarked, "People think the second weekend is just a repeat, but tonight proved there are still plenty of surprises left in the desert."
